It's Great: Roisto - Come On

“It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day and I’m feeling good great!”  With MMW in full view, Axtone welcomes to the family a new artist in Roisto and the introduction of a new imprint with It’s Great!   Taking his name from the Finnish word for ‘villain’, Roisto hails from the deep, dark forests of northernmost Finland, where he inhabits a small studio, filled with old analog synths, tape machines, and 12” disco records. It is within the confines of this musical safe haven that he creates his own stylish brand of disco.   Roisto has previously appeared on the French taste making institution Kitsuné, whilst garnering support from the likes of Thump, Wired, Complex, DJ Mag. His previous EP ‘Apart In Love’ released through ‘Youth Control’ was supported by DJs such as Armand Van Helden, The Magician, Utah Saints, The Swiss, Louis La Roche, The Knocks and many more. After hitting the Hypem top 10 lead single ’Apart In Love’ clocked up the best part of 2 Million Spotify streams.   And what about ‘Its Great!’? Expect multiple releases from our new Finish friend Roisto on this extension and evolution to the label. Axtone aficionados will know its connection to the roots of Axtone’s beginnings and more recently as the project name for a pair of releases in 2016 from Lenno & Vlad Lucan.   Out now.
