Sem Thomasson - Push & Pull

One of Axtone’s standout artists in 2020 was certainly Sem Thomasson who was omnipresent throughout the year with both a brace of singles and remixes alongside a whole host of live-streamed mixes, production tutorials and walkthroughs.

It wasn’t just Axtone whose attention was caught last year by Sem with Tomorrowland Radio tipping him as one of their ‘Future 4’ artists and closing the year with a release on Tiesto’s Musical Freedom imprint.

On ‘Push & Pull’ Sem has delivered 2 contrasting versions with the lead version going heavy on the piano and electronic melodies whilst the “House Party mix’ is all about the bassline and tougher drums.

Sem: “With Push & Pull I wanted to create a club track with a mysterious vibe and an old school groove. Inspired by my early clubbing days, I teamed up with the singer of one of my previous releases; ‘Grey Zone’ and combined piano sample work with uplifting synths. I’m super happy this particular track and sound will see the light of day on Axtone because when thinking back to my first steps as a DJ, Axtone is a label that comes to mind instantly.”
